DPSST Security Certification

We teach two (2) separate DPSST (Department of Public Safety Standards and Training) certification courses.

Full 12 Hour Basic Course
The first course is the initial 12 hours of mandatory basic training for any one who performs any type of security work in the state of Oregon. This includes bounces (Bar Security Professionals). The class is sectioned into two parts; 8 hours of class room text book work and 4 hours of assessment. The 8 hour course can be challenged if you have prior law enforcement, security or military experience, but the 4 hour assessment is mandatory.

4 Hour Refresher
The second is the mandatory 4 hours of biannual training required by DPSST for all unarmed recertifications. You may take this class within 90 days of your certification expiration.

Which ever course is taken, we provide a one stop service...

  • We will teach the course curriculum designed and set forth by DPSST
  • Fingerprint the student for the required background check
  • Provide the student with the necessary paperwork needed for certification
  • Proof and notarize the student’s application paperwork
  • Send in the paperwork to DPSST with payment (DPSST does not accept personal checks or credit cards)

Full DPSST classes are taught the third Thursday of every month. Refreshers are the second Sunday of every other month. Challenges can be done at both these times too.
