Mish Handwerker - Chief Instructor / Owner
Mr. Handwerker has been in the security industry since the beginning of 2004 working in several different aspects of the industry including that of bar security. He has been training in the martial arts since 1990 with a major focus on pressure points under the Dillman Method of Pressure Point Fighting. He teaches his knowledge of pressure points and self-defense through regular karate classes and the Bar Mechanics courses he developed from his martial experience. Mr. Handwerker also works for Providence Health & Services in their security department.

 

 

Bill Collins - Senior Instructor / Owner
Mr. Collins has worked in the bar security industry since about 1994. He has done everything from pat down to running 15 to 20 person security crews. He has worked in small corner bars and large night clubs. Most of his time has been spent in downtown Portland, Oregon, but he has spent a few summers in clubs out in New York City. He has studied different styles of martial arts some soft styles and some hard. Over the last few years he has trained or helped to train some of the bar staff and security mangers that still work in the Portland Metro area today as well as Las Vegas.

John Johnson - Chief DPSST Instructor
Mr. Johnson has over 30 years experience and training in Law Enforcement and Security including 3 years as a MP in the United States Army.  Currently a security officer with Providence Health and Services, he serves as Matador’s DPSST instructor having over 10 years experience teaching the curriculum.  Mr. Johnson is also a certified instructor in PATH, OCAT and MEB.
